So I’ve been very quiet in the digital world lately. No blog posts, no updates to Nike+ or DailyMile and all hush-hush on Twitter. I’ve been sick and even my inner Fat Girl has been quite. Just lots of laying about, trying to sleep.
AND my ipod decided to take a brief vacation under my bed and as we all know, no music means no working out. With the new program at the gym, there’s no excuses to work out, music or no.
And a brief pause for a Fat Girl Rant.
Seriously? You expect me to do hard, physical labor and get all sweaty and gross without music? An hour on the “dreadmill” with no Lady Gaga? Nuts you are! So fine, I drag myself to the gym, at least there’s TV on the treadmills and I can watch the news or something and wouldn’t you know it, all the TVs are down at the gym! This is madness!!!
So I toughed out a run with no music and no TV but I did have a heart rate monitor to keep me entertained. I ran 3miles in 42minutes. More on that later!

WOW! I’m hugely impressed! 42 minutes- that’s… ummm *counts on fingers* 14 minute pace? More wow!
Were you running so fast because you were so bored from the lack of Ipod and TV and you couldn’t wait for it to be over? That would be something I would do!
it was a run/walk. I really want to improve that time
I’m with ya on that. When I ran (well technically ran/walked) the 4-mile race last month, my time was 58:44, which is a 14:41 pace. And I’m very pleased with that, especially for a first race, but I definitely want to improve it. I need to build up my endurance- I can run about a 12-minute mile if I run 1 mile but obviously I want to run farther than that! (But I’m still impressed- you did a great job today!)

Way to go on that run!!!
I for one can not run without music!!!
Great run, girl! I like to run w/o music sometimes. I think I like to hear my heavy breathing. I know that sounds way perverted but I like it b/c it’s my body working. You know?
I’m getting over illness too. Sucks!
